Every Snippet Crate product comes with a choice of two licenses: Personal or Commercial. You pick one on the product page before you buy, and your order confirmation names the license you bought. This page explains the difference in plain language. It summarizes section 2 of our Terms of Service; if anything here differs from the Terms, the Terms apply.

Personal license
One person may use the product in their own projects, including learning, portfolio and non-commercial work. If the project is commercial, for a client or earns revenue, choose the Commercial license.
Commercial license
One person or one company may use the product in commercial projects, including client work and products that earn revenue.
What every license allows
- Modifying the code.
- Using it inside your own projects, within the scope of the license you bought.
What no license allows
- Reselling, sharing, sublicensing or redistributing the product, or any substantial part of it, as source code, a template, a starter kit or a competing product, whether free or paid.
- Removing copyright notices from the files.
Good to know
- Non-exclusive and non-transferable. Others can buy the same product, and you can't pass your license to someone else.
- Ownership. The license gives you the right to use the product; ownership stays with us or our licensors.
- Third-party components. Open-source libraries and other third-party components used by a product remain under their own licenses.
- Proof of license. Your order confirmation shows the license you bought. Keep it.
- When a license ends. If the Terms are broken, the license ends and the product must no longer be used and must be deleted. A refunded order also ends the license granted by that order (see our Refund policy).
- Updates and support. Whatever a product offers is described on that product's page.
